| Vinification | The Sandeman Porto Vintage Quinta do Seixo is made in the Quinta do Seixo winery from grapes from different sections of the farm's vineyards. After gentle crushing and partial destemming, very intense maceration followed during the alcoholic fermentation period. The maceration was carried out by treading in traditional granite presses (shallow fermentation presses). After the harvest, the wine remained in the Douro. It was transported to Vila Nova de Gaia the following spring to start the traditional aging process of Port Wine in oak vats. Its development in the first two years of life was carefully monitored under the watchful eye of the winemaker. Given its character, quality and history, this wine is filtered and filtered. Over time, it will launch a natural deposit from the bottle. |
| Test Results | Deep purple in color, almost opaque. Intense and powerful aroma of cherry and raspberry, plum and blueberry, notes of spices reminiscent of pepper and nutmeg and touches of resin and cedar wood. It has a firm structure, excellent and firm tannins, good balanced acidity and fruity and spicy flavors. The ending is long, with a lot of character. Sandeman Porto Vintage Quinta do Seixo 2013 can be drunk immediately. However, it will become increasingly complex if it is aged in the bottle for a long period, reaching its peak of quality perhaps around 15 years of life. |
