Quinta do Noval is one of the oldest and most prestigious Port wine houses, producing most of its wines from its own grapes, namely, all Vintage Port wines. Noval also produces one of the most emblematic Vintage ever produced in the Douro.

| Vinification | Vintage Ports are declared only in great years (3 or 4 years in a decade) and only when the wines meet Noval's demanding standards. All grapes come from the Quinta do Noval vineyard. The grapes are trodden on foot to obtain the must and then, during fermentation, macerate to obtain the best possible extraction from the mills, the traditional stone vats of the Quinta. It aged for 18 months in wooden vats of various capacities. |
| Test Results | Earthy, spicy and concentrated, it is quite tasty, with an enchanting complexity and depth. I really like the salty complexity, which integrates well with the spicy fruit. Superbly elegant with great complexity. |
