Located near Pinhão, on the right bank of the Douro, Quinta da Boavista has a spectacular view over the river. It is one of the most iconic properties in the demarcated region, known not only for its historical connection to the Baron of Forrester, but also for its 36 hectares of high quality vineyards.

Boa-Vista Reserva Red is a blend made with grapes from old and newer vines. Of different ages, at different altitudes and with different sun exposures, the vineyards from which the grapes for this Reserve come are a reflection of the diversity that can be found in this property.

Vinification At Quinta da Boavista, to guarantee the preservation of the characteristics of the variety and total control of the production process, we use manual harvesting and the manual selection of bunches, followed by destemming and gentle crushing of the berries. As fermentation tanks we have the traditional granite presses with foot treading, stainless steel fermentation vats and, for small batches, food pvc containers or fermentation in new 500 liter French wooden barrels. Each of these types of fermentation gives the wine a particular style. As a winemaking philosophy we have only one: to gently extract the best characteristics of our grapes. All wines are aged 100% in French oak barrels and after an aging period that varies between 15 and 20 months, different batches are formed. All wines are sealed with natural cork. Not being filtered or stabilized by the cold, they can give rise to a precipitate with age.
Test Results Very elegant and meticulous, with a ruby color, spicy nose on a background of red fruit with floral memories, which are mended in the glass. In the mouth it expands with freshness, highlighting the well shaded fruit with soft but firm tannins, which give the whole a great range. A graceful wine, full of sophistication.
Gastronomy Ideal to accompany red meat, game or cheese dishes.
Awards Robert Parker 91/100 Pts
