Barros is a name that stands out in the history of Port wine, since its foundation, which dates back to 1913. Its positioning in the national and international market has been giving it wide recognition, especially in Colheitas (wines of great quality aged in oak barrels for seven years), awarded several times.

Vinification The very old tawny ports are a growing category, albeit by their niche nature. Barros recently joined frey with a limited production of The Tawny Very Old Port of 1913 numbered bottles. To commemorate the centenary of Casa do Porto, winemaker Pedro Sá has produced a mix of the best wines of every decade since the founding of Barros. The average age of the wines is 65 years. It is also unusual, apparently it is a single vineyard wine. The grapes come from Quinta de S. Luiz, whose vines range between 20 and 80 years and located between 200 and 400 meters above sea level. All the wines of the mixture were aged in small barrels of 225 liter oak in the Barros warehouse in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Test Results Amber color with greenish reflections.
Gastronomy Ideal as an aperitif, with desserts, with cheese, with chocolates also. Very glycerinated in the mouth, with sweet texture and notes of honey, of jams and almonds. Soft end, very long and very complex.
