Lacrau comes from the Arabic al-’aqrab. Lacrau is an invertebrate arthropod animal (with legs formed by several segments) that belongs to the order Scorpiones and is classified in the class of arachnids. Lacrau (Buthus occitanus) is the only scorpion in Portugal. It is distributed throughout the national territory, from Trás-os-Montes to the Algarve, and is often found in arid areas, with rocks exposed to the sun.

Vinification Manual harvesting. Manual choice of curls. Partial destemming followed by fermentation. Post fermentative maceration. It aged for 36 months in 225 liter hulls used in contact with fine sludge.
Test Results Complex and elegant aroma. Evolution characteristics. Silky tannins that give longevity to the wine. Color: Grenat red with good intensity. Aroma: Complex, deep and elegant. The red and black fruits, spices (cloves) stand out, but all in a very elegant set. Palate: Silky tannins, balanced acidity, very focused on red fruit. Persistent finish.
