Bafarela Grande Reserva 2018 Red is a Douro wine that expresses, at its best, the elegance of one of the specialties of Casa Brites Aguiar. A limited edition presented only in exceptional years.
There are about 190ha of schist land distributed along the slopes of Rio Torto and Ribeira de Galegos. The rugged geographical relief of the Douro Demarcated Region gives rise to a variety of micro-climates where each agricultural crop has its place of choice. Until the end of the 60s, the olive grove (olive oil) was the economic support of the agricultural house. In the 70's this culture was relegated to the background with the vineyard taking the lead that remains to this day.

In new stainless steel vats, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and immediately entered French oak barrels (500 liters), where it aged for 12 months. |
Test Results | Intense and charged color. Distinctive aroma of great intensity and complexity with floral notes. It stands out in the tasting more for its freshness than for its concentration, the finish is long, seductive and persistent. |
